Mikros Animation Paris’ teams under the Mikroscope! We asked them 8 questions so that you can get to know them, their world and their successes. At the end, they in turn pass the baton to one of their colleagues so that another person can answer the same questions!
Today, Marie-Laure Ravier – TD Production Coordinator, shares her journey and what inspires her:
What is the best part of your job?
The best part is communication and people! The special thing about the department I’m in, TDs, is that we are in contact with the entire production and even beyond with the technical departments of the other shows. I love having that global view of the studio and the opportunity to talk to so many different people!
What was the first project you worked on when you joined Mikros Animation?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: it was the look of this film that convinced me to join the studio, I can’t wait for more people to see the film!!
Share your student and professional background to get to your position at Mikros Animation!
At a very young age I knew I wanted to make “cartoons”, so after studying animation I started in the business as a Lighting artist. I worked as a Lightning artist for a little over a year before becoming interested in production and TDs, which led me to apply to Mikros Animation!
What and who inspires you?
Lots of artistic creations! Films, music, games, drawings… When I watch a cartoon saloon movie, Pixar or 4°C for example, it motivates me to produce something that can inspire people! But what inspires me the most to give it my all is all the people I work with. I think of Julie my manager or Antoine or Edouard and many others, their energy pushes me to give 100%!
If you had to be a character in Mikros Animation’s films and series, who would you be?
I think of Idefix, but also it would certainly be Bob in Sponge Bob, because of his enthusiasm!
Your biggest achievement so far?
Today I think it would be to see the members of my team happy to see each other every day! If everyone has good memories of our time together then that would be a great achievement!
What would be your super power?
Teleportation! That way I can discover new places every day and taste food from all over the world!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
That’s not easy, I’ve learned so much in the last 10 years. I would say to trust yourself and go for the things you love without worrying too much! That may sound like irresponsible advice but when you tend to overthink you have to balance it with letting go.
It’s your turn to name someone from Mikros Animation Paris, to answer these 8 questions!
We haven’t seen a TD artist yet in Mikroscope, so I nominate Florentin Luce!
