Join us as we delve into the world of rigging with an artist who continues to push the boundaries of his creativity and technical skills.
- What is the best part of your job?
Rigging is a technical field that comes with a lot of challenges. My favorite part of these challenges is going through each file, fixing the issues, and learning new techniques and methods. While facing these challenges, I found that my technical strengths have grown drastically. The best part of this field is that we get to use our creativity a lot.
- What was the first project you worked on when you joined Mikros Animation?
Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks. But my first main project was Elena of Avalor. I got to build the rig the way I wanted and was able to deliver it in a way that an animator would love to work with.
- Share your student and professional background that led to your position at Mikros Animation!
I pursued a B.Sc. in Animation. Once the course was completed, I got a job in Bangalore as a rigging artist at Bhasin Soft Animations in 2012. After completing two years there, I moved to BigWig Animation in Coimbatore, where I created a Christmas wish reel for the company based on my own concept and ideas. I then joined Mikros, where I understood that rigging is an endless sea—the more you learn, the more there is to learn.
- Who or what inspires you?
The rigs created by Blue Sky Studios. The way they created the rigs in Hotel Transylvania was amazing.
- If you had to be a character in Mikros Animation’s films and series, who would you be?
Plankton. Even though he is an antagonist, he never gives up on his dream, no matter how difficult it gets or how many times he fails. He keeps trying until he succeeds.
- Your biggest achievement so far?
The technical knowledge that I have gained so far, with the help of so many people.
- What would be your superpower?
Control TIME. So that I can extend the days for all artists, ensuring that no one has to work late after office hours.
- What advice would you give to your younger self?
You are on the right path. Don’t lose hope, be kind, help others, be humble and polite…
FIGHT EVIL!! Just kidding… let your heart grow. And DON’T STOP LEARNING.
