Our Mikros Animation Bangalore studio is going under the Mikroscope! We asked them 8 questions so you that you can get to know them, their world and their successes. At the end, they in turn pass the baton to one of their colleagues to go under the Mikroscope.
Today we spotlight Bina Hota, FX Lead who shares his inspirations, biggest achievement so far, and an insight into his role at Mikros Animation.
What is the best part of your job?
As an FX Lead, I have the opportunity to work closely with directors, supervisors, and other departments to bring their creative visions to life. This involvement in the creative decision-making process can be highly rewarding.
What was the first project you worked on when you joined Mikros Animation?
My involvement with Mikros Animation began in 2018, when I worked on episodes of “Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks” as a Senior FX Artist.
This project has taught me a lot; learning is a continuous process, and each project is a special chance to increase your knowledge and abilities.

Since I was a child, I’ve had a tremendous interest in animated films. My early fascination with the animated medium may have sparked my interest in the field of animation.
After completing my degree, I decided to pursue my passion further by enrolling in a Visual Effects (VFX) specialist programme. This course provided me with the creative and technical abilities required to operate in the VFX industry.
After working for several other organizations, I joined Mikros Animation in 2018. I was given the opportunity to lead a team after gaining experience and showcasing my FX artist abilities. My abilities, dedication, and the trust of my supervisor and the head of the department, have been vital for my career advancement.
Who or what inspires you?
The wonder and joy of animated cartoons strongly influenced my decision to seek a career in the industry, and they constantly inspire me.
If you had to be a character in Mikros Animation’s films and series, who would you be?
I have several traits in common with Alvin, the endearing protagonist of “Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks”.
Your biggest achievement so far?
So far, my proudest achievement has been working at Technicolor Creative Studios. I’m also proud of my miniatures.
What would be your superpower?
I desire the ability to transform the entire globe into a forest. 🙂
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Surround yourself with supportive and positive people who inspire and challenge you.
