The Legendaries tells the story of the adventures of Danaël, Jadina, Razzia, Shimy and Gryf who, during a battle against the forces of evil, became children again. The inhabitants of the world of Alysia have all suffered the same fate.
The adventures of the Legends will air daily at 10 a.m. from March 3 to 11 and then on Saturdays and Sundays from March 17 to September 9 at the same time.
The event occurred when the dark sorcerer Darkhell attempted to take the Jovenia Stone, a symbol of joviality and power. Danaël, Jadina, Razzia, Shimy and Gryf tried to stop him and the stone broke. An incident that sent all the people of Alysia back to their childhood and, moreover, made a fool of this band of superheroes. After going their separate ways, unhappy with their fate, Danaël, who embodies nobility, Razzia, strength, Gryf, courage, Shimy, purity, and Jadina, intelligence, have decided to join forces again. They are ready to do anything to make up for their mistake and win back the hearts of the people of Alysia. Their leader, Danael, has heard of a way to dissolve the spell and restore balance.
A success
Published by Delcourt, Patrick Sobral’s fantasy series began in 2004. It contains 20 volumes and two spin-off series with Les Légendaires – Origines and Les Légendaires – Parodia. This series has sold nearly 5 million copies in France and is in the top of the bestseller list for each publication. Each new adventure is also among the best sellers in Quebec.
There are also novels, calendars, agendas, stationery, game books and even postage stamps of the Legends.
The television series, which aired last spring on the French channel TF1, will include a total of 26 episodes of 26 minutes. The first nine episodes will be shown during spring break and the series will then continue on Saturdays and Sundays.
The first three episodes will premiere on March 3 at 1:15 p.m. at the Cinéma Beaubien during the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival. Admission is free and passes will be available on site the same day.
The adventures of the Legends will be shown on Télé-Québec, with several reruns, from March 3 to 11 and from March 17 to September 9.
