In the first episode of #OpenMik on the film Ozi, Voice of the Forest, discover the work of Mikros Animation’s teams and the creative and technical challenges they encountered during production.
Technical challenges included animating characters with thick hair and creating effects, as well as addressing the “Bambi Effect.” The team converted 2D effects into 3D to preserve the artistic vision while adding depth.
The movie was developed with Mikros Animation from the beginning, covering everything from story creation to final rendering. The project involved teams in France and India, requiring efficient data exchange. The creative process started from scratch, giving artists full freedom.
Director Tim Harper’s mood board inspired the film’s world. A significant challenge was working remotely due to COVID-19 lockdowns, which affected the production.
