The Annie Awards have recently unveiled the nominees and we couldn’t be happier to have learnt the nomination of Fast & Furious : Spy Racers, running in the Outstanding Achievement for Animated Effects in a Television/Media Production category. 

For specifically, the “out-of-control fire tornado” in the third season’s final episode, “Sirocco Fire Explosion,” was nominated.

At this occasion, Animation World Network interviewed Chris Browne, CG Supervisor on the show.

There are hefty amounts of FX eye-candy, but in addition to hitting the accelerator on action sequences, Browne says there was just as much emphasis put on the importance of making sure the truly awesome effects – by DreamWorks Animation and Technicolor – and epic environments stayed as realistic as possible.”
